This is the
Scottish Tartan for the Clark Clan. Our lineage seems to be
mostly English, (Clark being equivalent to the British "clerk"
which was the designation for someone who was a writer of sorts)
but there's also a mix of a lot of other nationalities as well,
including, I believe, at least a wee bit of Scottish. And Dutch.
And American Indian. And a fair dose of redneck.
I have two cats, Peanut and Shadow.
They and BethAnn and still getting used to one another.
I got them as kittens in March 2004. They are calico/torties,
sisters, from the same litter. Peanut earned her name because
she was the smallest (not now); and Shadow because she tended to
follow me everywhere (still does).
As they have grown, it's become clear that, even though they are
sisters, their personalities are very different. Among other
things.
Today, Peanut is the larger cat, about a third as big as her
sister and more solid. She's also the one who stays put, not
wandering around the house from place to place. She spends most
of her time in the dining room or living room.
Shadow is the charmer and lap-cat and annoyingly vocal at times.
She still follows me around and tends to be in whatever room I'm
in. She'll even curl up on my desk while I'm working -- that is
after she's walked all over my laptop. While Peanut refuses to
get on the bed -- ever -- Shadow often spends a good deal of the
night with us. And she "owns" the entire house.
They recently were declawed -- now we can get new non-shredded
furniture -- and Shadow was spayed (Peanut had an emergency
spaying in 2003 after developing pyometra). Both are doing well,
are very spoiled, and make wonderful company. Now, if they would
just not ever shed, they'd be the prefect companions!
Shadow.
Peanut.
