Liar!
Liar! Pants On Fire!
Have
you ever thought about what salvation is? What some of the elements of
salvation are? To be saved means being forgiven of all your sin. It means
possessing in you all you need to live a holy and righteous life. It means
that you are a new person--you're not the same old you. It means that your
life has been cleansed and reconstructed in power. It means that you are
daily becoming more and more just like Christ!
All of this is part of the testimony
to the truth that God provided through Jesus. And this is the truth we
are to believe in our hearts and live out in our lives.
If you don't believe even just
one part of this testimony, you are calling God a liar! If at any moment
of time you feel as if your confessed sins aren't forgiven, you are calling
God a liar. If you believe that you just don't have what it takes to be
good in Christ, you are calling God a liar. If you think that the Holy
Spirit doesn't want anything to do with you, you are calling God a liar.
Here is where Satan plays with
us. The goal of our enemy is to kill, steal, and destroy us, even if he
has to do it piece by piece, doubt by doubt. The devil will bring situations
and people across your path that will sow doubt, discouragement, and deep
disappointment in your heart.
The testimony of man will label
you failure, fool, and afraid. But "God's testimony is greater because
it is the testimony of God!" In Christ you are "more than a conqueror"
and have eternal life and endless access to His grace.
We accept man's testimony,
but God's testimony is greater because it is the testimony of God, which
he has given about his Son. Anyone who believes in the Son of God has this
testimony in his heart. Anyone who does not believe God has made him out
to be a liar, because he has not believed the testimony God has given about
his Son. And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and
this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have
the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe
in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal
life. (1 John 5:9-13 NIV)
