Christmas Trinity

Christmas comes each year
birthing Christ anew in our hearts,
exploding hope in joyous caroling
echoing down snow paved streets.

We greet each other with gifts of smiles
made of unwrapped teeth and
seasoned words of cheered blessing.

Children guessing at secrets
held captive in red wrapped presents,
giggle and muffle squealing anticipation
while looking skyward for angels,
wondering about Santa's reality.

Congeniality and peace bookend
the world as the specter of Christ's
birth hovers behind our festive facade.

God seeks faithful hearts aflame with truth,
seasoned saints seeking Him and serving
each other in love and devotion, honoring
the Spirit, the Giver, and the Given of Christmas.
