Stephen, not
Steve or Stefan or Stevarino...
Stephen R. Clark,
is a native of New Castle, Indiana where he graduated from Walter P.
Chrysler High School. Later he attended Evangel University in
Springfield, Missouri earning a B.A. in English and Biblical Studies,
with a minor in Psychology.
A writer
and communications professional, he served as the Editor of Christian
Bookseller Magazine in Carol Stream, Illinois (now Christian
Retailing), and was the Managing Editor of Bridge Publishing, Inc. (now
Bridge-Logos Books) in South Plainfield, New Jersey.).
Since he began writing in 1968, Clark has authored short stories,
poetry, online content, ad copy, and numerous articles. He has
ghostwritten and authored several Christian books, and contributed chapters to
compilations, devotionals, and other books.
Over a seven year period, Clark held positions in employee
communications, proposal development, technical writing, quality &
process management, and more in various units of AT&T in New Jersey,
including AT&T Network Systems (now Lucent), AT&T Treasury, and AT&T
Solutions.
He returned to Indiana in 1996, operating a free-lance writing and
communications business (which he has done full time and on the side
for years) until joining Allison Engine Company, a division of
Rolls-Royce Aerospace (now Rolls-Royce Allison). He then served for
three years as the Corporate Communications/PR Manager with Best
Access Systems (formerly Best Lock and now part of Stanley) in Indianapolis.
In addition to the abovementioned experience, Clark also has done
factory labor, home construction, greenhouse labor, janitorial, lumber
yard labor, direct home sales, tier II tech support, telephone
customer service, directory keylining (graphic layout),
and menswear sales. He has taught a continuing education course for
IUPUI in business writing.
He is currently a member of the Evangelical Press
Association (EPA), and the Associated Church Press (ACP).
He was a member of the Fishers, Indiana Chamber of Commerce; the International Association of Business
Communicators (IABC) (serving as the Director of
Communications for the IABC US District 7); and the Public Relations
Society of America.
He resides in Fishers, Indiana with his two cats, Peanut and Shadow,
and attends Fall Creek Community Church in Fishers (www.fallcreek.org).
He is currently a Project Editor, Consumer Dummies (www.dummies.com)
with Wiley Publishing, Inc.
